Born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (a former
British colony), Dr. DiBella graduated from St. George’s College,
a Jesuit high school, in Salisbury. He then attended medical school
at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
After obtaining his medical degree
he completed internships in multiple disciplines at the following
Cape Town and London (England) institutions:
- Groote Schuur Hospital (General
Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology)
- Tygerberg Hospital (Internal
Medicine)
- Red Cross Children’s Hospital
(Paediatrics)
- Royal Free Hospital (Accident
& Emergency)
Dr. DiBella then moved to the
United States with his family and completed his orthopaedic
residency and fellowship in hand surgery at the prestigious
University of Connecticut and Associated hospitals in Hartford.
He is board certified by the
American Board Orthopaedic Surgery and received added
certification in hand surgery. He recently completed the
re-certification process.
He has been a Clinical Assistant
Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical School
and Parkland Memorial Hospital and member of the teaching service
since 1983.
Dr. DiBella also has hospital
privileges at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and
belongs to the following professional organizations:
