In 1975, Dr. Zehr finished
his undergraduate work at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
He moved to Springfield Illinois to complete his internship and
residencies in General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at Southern
Illinois University.
After completing additional
training in a Fellowship in hand surgery in Los Angeles, Dr. Zehr
completed his board certification as an orthopaedic surgeon. He
received an added qualification in hand surgery and has recently
completed the re-certification process.
Dr. Zehr's expertise
is in hand surgery, microvascular surgery and in replantation
of hands. He has hospital appointments at Baylor University Medical
Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Since 1981, he has been
a member of the teaching service and is a Clinical Assistant Professor
of Orthopedic Surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical
School and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
